Symptom |
The peer device generates a MAC address flapping alarm. |
Condition |
The local device has multiple Layer 3 interfaces, and the peer device has multiple Layer 2 interfaces. LLDP is enabled on both devices. |
Impact |
Services are interrupted. |
Severity |
Minor |
Root Cause |
The source MAC address of an LLDP packet sent from a Layer 3 interface is the system MAC address. As a result, the Layer 2 interfaces on the peer device learn the same MAC address. |
Solution |
The LLDP packets sent from a Layer 3 interface use the interface's MAC address as the source MAC address. |
